About Us Shaw’s Books is a buyer and seller of collectible books and ephemera in most subject areas. Our 2,000 square foot book shop is located at 14932 Kercheval in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan and is open on a chance or appointment basis. We maintain an inventory of approximately 20,000 volumes. Although we are generalists relative to categories, we are especially strong in such areas as: Americana, Antiques & Collectibles, Art, Automotive, Aviation, Cookbooks, Decorative Arts, Fine Bindings, Golf, Great Lakes History, Illustrated, Literature, Maritime, Michigan History, Military, Performing Arts, and Sporting of all sorts. The business was established in 1983 by Hank Zuchowski. Hank is a long time member of the Michigan
Antiquarian Book Sellers Association, the Northern Ohio Bibliophilic Society (N.O.B.S) and the Midwest
Antiquarian Booksellers Association (M.W.A.B.A.), an organization comprised of about one hundred (100)
professional booksellers from a thirteen (13) state area. He has served on the Board of Directors for
that organization since 1996 and as its President since 1998. In addition to maintaining a brick and mortar
book shop, Shaw´s Books annually participates in about twenty (20) antiquarian book fairs throughout the United
States and has taken part in more than five hundred (500) of such events. We also conduct appraisals of books
and ephemera from single volumes to entire libraries for private persons, estates, institutions and organizations
and have conducted more than sixty (60) formal appraisals. We also give talks to groups about book collecting,
book values, identification of first editions and other topics of interest regarding books.
Please contact us if you wish to buy or sell any collectible books or ephemera, visit our shop, or if we can
otherwise be of service.
